  • star rating  It is always disappointing when an owner / operator can't take feedback.
On another platform the owner has not accepted the feedback provided.
The food in this restaurant is actually... read more pretty good albeit on the upper end of pricing, but it is pretentious that they regard common soft drinks as poison...yeah they probably aren't great for you but have an offer other than snobby health drinks.
Could not even get a glass of Moscato a wine largely produced only 90 minutes away from the favoured Milan that this establishment prides itself on representing.
The biggest issue is the acceptance of Covid restrictions.
We are Sydney based travellers who purposely travelled the south coast to support local businesses. We are not overly worried about covid but would expect that local businesses accept the current rules and not sit us virtually back to back with other patrons to squeeze in an extra cover.
We were well within in 1.5 MTS of the other patrons. We ate our main and left.
The owner Stefano needs to grow up and accept feedback and not just say 'stay at home if you don't like it". He will no doubt make comment here as well.
We put over $3k into the local economy over a few days. If we all stayed home you would not have a business...just say thanks for coming and giving us a try and we can learn from the feedback.

star rating  Good food; good Australian service. Table for four just hopelessly impractical-far too small for four dinner plates, 4 bread plates; plates for two side dishes; 4 each wine and water... read more glasses; water carafe; candle. But had the table been much larger conversation would have been impossible because of the high noise level. Hard surfaces; a kid nearby encouraged to test the reverberation; the usual quota of people who go out for dinner to shout at each other...
The king fish main and king fish risotto were excellent. The Farmers Wellington showed signs of pre-cooking and re-heating, served suspiciously quickly and the pastry was too hard. Deserts were served without forks - and only two were provided when asked for. Serving tiramisu in a jar so it must be eaten vertically is a mistake. Outside dining on a warm night preferable but the outside tables have stools not chairs, so not a real option.

star rating  This wine bar and restaurant in Milton is great spot serving seasonal and authentic Italian food.

We visited on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was fully booked, so... read more we are glad we had booked ahead. Despite the full restaurant, service was efficient and meals came in a timeline manner.

The restaurant set up has a couple of bar tables out front, outdoor dining in the courtyard and indoors. The kitchen is in a separate space across the courtyard but the open kitchen style meant you could see the chefs in action busily working away and the huge woodfired oven for their pizzas.

Head chef Filippo Cozzani has curated a menu boasting interesting Northern Italian dishes that were rustic in their flavours and creation, yet modern and fine dining like in their presentation. They use Italian imported products and wines to provide an authentic
    Experience.

Beginning with some outstanding wood fired scallops; with a soy and parsley emulsion, lime
foam and a black squid ink coral. The flavour combinations worked beautifully and the scallops were cooked to perfection.

The “Riso, patate e Cozze” was a potato rice dish that is a starchy / congee like consistency, flavoured with a good amount of lemon and zest with plump mussels sitting in the mix, presented with the squid ink corals and drizzled with a parsley chlorophyll dressing. It was an interesting dish that we haven’t seen before but it was definitely enjoyable.

The eggplant dish was a charred eggplant filled with roasted vegetables; such as potato, onion sitting on a red capsicum mayonnaise. The charring of the eggplant gave the dish a good smokiness too it and the medley of vegetables were nice and softly roasted. It would be good to have this come with a slice of bread to mop up the extra sauce.

We also had the “vegan maccheroni”, the pasta tossed in a zucchini and pesto sauce. A good vegan dish and for those not vegan, it comes with goats cheese, which probably steps this dish up another level.

There’s so many different dishes we would have happily ordered as well as a long list of woodfired pizzas. This does give us the incentive to return in the future.

They use certified organic flour and can also make pastas gluten free if needed.

On our visit we didn’t have the space for desserts; but if you so, there’s your traditional Italian options like tiramisu, pannacotta or Nutella calzones.

Drink wise, it is a bar so there’s an extensive wine list with plenty of Italian varieties and we like that the menu lists the best pairing for each food option. Plenty of beers and cocktails too that complements the dining experience.

  • star rating  Initially the waitress was most engaging and helpful. I ordered the angus eye fillet and asked it to be cooked medium. I also asked if the dish came with accompaniments,... read more other than potato. Yes it came with broccoli and beetroot, so I did not need to order a side plate of vegetables. My eye fillet was not tender and under cooked, especially in the middle. No vegetables on the plate either. We did not see the waitress again, after she left the dessert menus. The restaurant was not overly busy. My partner's grilled seafood plate was a winner. I'd go back and try their italian cuisine. The takeaway pizzas seemed to do well. Ambience was lovely. Friends at another table all enjoyed their pasta dishes.

star rating  My mate booked us because of his love of food, telling us it’s the best restaurant in south coast, he was spot on. The pizzas were superb, staff were happy... read more and very helpful, suggest you book as this place is on fire on the weekends. It’s that good people sit outside and wait for a table. If your worried about the weather book a table inside.
    We will defiantly go back.

star rating  Perhaps last night was an off night but the food was overall very disappointing. The grilled seafood platter was very bland and lacked creativity. We expected more for $42 per serving.
